Sporting Pub

Chaplins is renowned as a Sporting Pub and we show all major sports on our TVs, in particular Hurling, Gaelic Football, Rugby, Soccer, Horse Racing and Golf. We featured on Publin's "best GAA pubs in Dublin"! You will find sports are on our screens no matter where you are sitting and if we are not showing sports, we are talking about sports! The main bar area is adorned with pictures of the many famous players who provided such enjoyment for spectators and also pictures of Liam and Sam when they visited the pub!

The property is presently owned by the Ryan (Coole) family from Tipperary and so it is no surprise that the pub has a huge Tipperary crew in when Tipperary are playing hurling and football in Croke Park. The present owners played hurling for Tipperary many moons ago and their brother Dinny Ryan (Coole) scored the winning goal when Tipperary beat Kilkenny in the 1971 All Ireland hurling final. You will also find a huge Dublin following in the pub when Dublin are playing hurling and football. Philly Ryan, son of the owners, was on the Dublin Senior Football panel who won the All Ireland Senior Football final in 2015.
